It feels to me that you were looking at Standups as a way of doing long-term planning. That’s wholly inaccurate. Standups are for the shortest of planning (i.e. the next 24 hours). That’s why you seem to like them when you’re in the final stages of product launch, because you’re using them correctly!
If you are not getting value out of this 15 minute ceremony, I’d suggest you’re applying the tool to the wrong problem, rather than having a useless tool.
